“Lorenzo is here!”
This loud shout was like lighting a torch in the dark night, drawing all eyes in its direction.
“Damn it, Lorenzo, hand over the Dragon’s Blood!”
After a round of shooting, Sam quickly reloaded his arrows under the protection of his subordinates while angrily yelling at Lorenzo.
Now that things had escalated to this point, there was no turning back; he needed to secure the Dragon’s Blood first.
“Lorenzo!”
Meanwhile, Schurz, having killed an elite member of the Scarlet Fire Gang with his staff, wore a fierce expression, clearly in a bloodthirsty rage, and directly led the thugs charging forward!
Regardless of who instigated the enmity in the beginning, once the chaos began, Lorenzo was subtly under siege due to the influence of the Dragon’s Blood.
Even some of the wild dogs, eager to join in, charged forward, and what angered him further was that the elusive figure had been circling around the crowd near him since earlier.
In just a minute, he had taken several hits from blunt weapons, even being subjected to the despicable tactic of having his groin attacked. If it weren’t for the strength of his Magic Armor, he surely would have lost something!
“Damn it!”
Lorenzo was nearly furious to the point of vomiting blood. He shoved the metallic container in his hand into the hands of a trusted subordinate and said, “Hold this for me. I’m going to drag that despicable little person out and kill him!”
“Got it!”
The subordinate smiled, revealing a big white grin.
Lorenzo felt a flicker of unease, but in the chaos, he didn’t think much about it and charged into the crowd with his blade!
With a powerful force like Lorenzo joining in, the situation stabilized quickly. Although Lorenzo still couldn’t find that despicable person, he had managed to carve out a path for his teammates.
Beside him, the subordinate kicked away a mouse attempting to sneak attack while catching up with Lorenzo, gasping for breath and saying, “Boss, what should we do next?”
“What to do? Of course, we need to escort the Dragon’s Blood safely…”
As he spoke, Lorenzo suddenly stopped. He stared intently at the hands of his subordinate, looking dazed and muttering, “Where’s the Dragon’s Blood?”
“The Dragon’s Blood?”
The subordinate looked baffled, “Isn’t that in your hands, boss?”
“Don’t talk nonsense, I just gave it to you!”
Lorenzo grabbed the subordinate by the collar and shook him vigorously. Seeing the subordinate’s innocent expression, he suddenly appeared to realize something, and his expression changed dramatically.
“Oh no, we’ve been tricked!”
He immediately turned his head, and through the gaps in the crowd, he could vaguely see a slender figure darting through the crowd like an eel, snatching off its hood and sprinting away!
Running incredibly fast!
“Stop right there!”
Lorenzo was caught off guard, so he turned and ran after the fleeing figure.
“Lorenzo, where do you think you’re going?”
At that moment, Schurz led a group of thugs who closed in again, their clothes stained with blood, as if they had already lost their sanity; they rushed at Lorenzo, entirely disregarding the difference in strength.
“Damn it, move aside!”
The Magic Armor on Lorenzo emitted a fierce blue glow, increasing his speed and strength several times. He swung his fist hard, knocking back the thugs trying to obstruct him.
But just as he was about to move forward, a sudden sense of danger surged within him, and the sound of a crossbow being drawn echoed as Sam, along with a group of subordinates, aimed their magic crossbows at him again.
“Lorenzo, hand over the Dragon’s Blood!”
“Damn it, the Dragon’s Blood isn’t in my hands! Someone stole it!” Lorenzo shouted angrily.
“Do you think I would believe such a clumsy lie?” Sam sneered, “Is there really a thief that skilled who could steal something from you?”
“I want to know where that guy popped out from too, but he indeed ran off with the Dragon’s Blood!”
“Save your pathetic lies for hell, where you can tell the devils there!”
Sam didn’t believe him at all, aiming his crossbow directly at Lorenzo. He didn’t believe the Magic Armor was strong enough to withstand his continuous attacks!
“Damn it!”
Lorenzo was so furious he nearly spat blood, murmuring to himself, “Please, let me have your help.”
In the next moment.
The air in the entire alley began to stir chaotically.
As if an invisible force was gradually gathering, it suddenly exploded beneath the muted chanting hidden by the clamor.
With a deafening bang, everyone instinctively looked up.
A massive fireball shot up into the sky, like a small sun, instantly illuminating the entire street.
“Damn.”
Staring blankly at the fireball, Sam couldn’t help but curse, “Lorenzo, you bastard, did you actually hire a magician? And you actually dared to let that magician use magic so blatantly? Don’t you fear the guards coming?”
“Don’t worry, I spent a little money, and they’ll turn a blind eye.”
Thinking of the enormous cost he would have to pay to settle this later made Lorenzo’s heart ache. But there was no time to dwell on that now; he pointed angrily toward the side and shouted, “Look at what that person is holding!”
In the darkness illuminated by the little sun, the fleeing figure had nowhere to hide, and the gleaming metal container in their hand was particularly eye-catching.
Everyone looked in the direction Lorenzo was pointing, and they couldn’t help but slap their thighs: the Dragon’s Blood really was snatched away!
Wait, now wasn’t the time to think about that.
The Dragon’s Blood had run off; they had to chase!
The thugs, elites, and mice, just recently stunned by the enormous fireball, went wild again.
The crowd was thrown into chaos, but the people in front hadn’t even begun to move, and those behind were already rushing forward. The alley, narrow to begin with, became a crush, with many starting to shove.
This group of armed danger-seekers injured several people just from pushing, and in their bloodlust, they lacked any reasoning, starting a shootout right there.
Blood splattered everywhere, and several people collapsed on the spot.
“Damn it, what are you doing fighting right now? Hurry up and chase after him!”
Lorenzo pulled his elite subordinates out of the melee again and pursued that figure, while Sam, unaffected by the chaos due to his advantageous position, raised his crossbow and aimed at the person, shooting again!
In the fading light, Sam saw the figure blur for a moment, not only dodging his bolt but seeming to explode forward like it had been propelled by a burst of magic, zooming away quickly.
“What the hell, they run so fast!”
In the confusion, someone exclaimed in surprise.
“Can we track him?”
Lorenzo fixed his gaze on the increasingly distant figure and whispered again.
An aura wafted, with blood coalescing into faint red threads, drifting into the deep night.
Lorenzo’s expression darkened as he suddenly thrust his blade into its sheath and gritted his teeth, saying, “Chase!”
The brief glow faded, and the night deepened further.
The chaos and madness continued, and dawn was still far away.
