The next day.
After finishing his last full-body check, Mu’en was promptly kicked out of the hospital room.
The bald middle-aged single doctor seemed quite displeased with Mu’en chatting with several beautiful girls in the ward yesterday, and when he pushed Mu’en out, he did so eagerly.
It was still morning when he left. The senior had classes, and Celicia was unlikely to visit him two times in a row.
So, with no one to greet him, Mu’en made his way alone toward the dormitory building.
Fortunately, with his hands empty, being alone felt much easier.
The weather was still great.
Just as he stepped onto the small woodland path leading to the dorm area, he was stopped by a stranger female classmate who seemed to have been waiting for him.
“Mu’en Campbell.”
“Um? Who are you?”
Looking at the girl who suddenly appeared before him, who was quite good-looking, though not as stunning as the senior or Celicia, Mu’en couldn’t help but feel a bit nervous.
The newcomer had a fierce demeanor; was this some kind of issue created by the original owner, perhaps an ex-girlfriend seeking him out?
Glancing around, this small grove was indeed a good place for a scumbag to be stabbed to death and disposed of.
Yet, scouring his memory, Mu’en had no impression of the girl in front of him.
“Finnie, third year,” the girl introduced herself.
“Oh, so it’s Senior Finnie.” Mu’en sighed in relief; since she introduced herself, it meant she wasn’t someone he knew, and couldn’t possibly be an ex-girlfriend.
“Is there something you need, Senior Finnie?”
“I’ll be straightforward.”
Senior Finnie seemed to have a bold personality; she didn’t beat around the bush and directly looked into Mu’en’s eyes, asking seriously:
“Mu’en Campbell, do you want to join our Magic Art Society?”
“Magic Art Society?”
Magic Art Society?
What magic art?
Mu’en was taken aback for a moment.
Then he realized.
The so-called Magic Art Society was actually the art club; since it was a magic academy, it had a rather “magical” name.
The club’s focus was essentially on studying the arts, as it was an academy with quite a few nobles, and normal artistic activities would be prevalent.
So, this Senior Finnie was inviting him to join the club?
“Why?”
Mu’en couldn’t help but ask:
“My reputation… should have a negative impact on the club.”
For the club, if a member’s reputation was too poor, it could mean no new recruits could be attracted.
That was why Mu’en was surprised.
“Indeed, Mu’en’s reputation is somewhat poor; however, after the previous incident, we all believe there might be some misunderstanding.”
Senior Finnie said earnestly:
“Someone like Mu’en, so handsome and well-built, it would be a pity not to join our Magic Art Society.”
So handsome and well-built…
Why did it feel more like recruiting a nude model rather than for a club?
Mu’en secretly criticized in his heart.
But he felt a bit happy.
Since someone invited him to join a club, it was just as the senior said; his image in the eyes of others had indeed changed somewhat.
At least…
He wouldn’t be treated like a plague by those girls anymore.
This was a very good start.
Exciting.
But…
“Sorry, Senior Finnie, someone already invited me to join their club.” Mu’en politely declined.
“Oh?”
Finnie seemed a bit surprised:
“Someone even faster than me? Which club?”
“Ancient Magic Potion Society.”
Mu’en replied and added, “It’s a rather niche club.”
“Ancient Magic Potion Society… seems to be the one belonging to Anna Cabin.”
Finnie furrowed her brows, seemingly recalling something, and said:
“Mu’en, I may not have the right to dictate your choices, but I must remind you that Senior Anna’s reputation in the upper grades doesn’t seem very good.”
“Not very good… What do you mean?” Mu’en’s eyes narrowed slightly, a hint of coldness flashing through.
“I’m not too clear on the specifics; I just heard some seniors from the same club mention it.”
“Is that so?”
Mu’en thought for a moment and smiled: “Thank you, Senior Finnie, for the reminder. However, I know better than anyone how unreliable rumors can be; unless I witness something myself, I generally wouldn’t believe such things.”
“I see.”
Senior Finnie didn’t say much more, politely nodding to Mu’en:
“Sorry for taking up your time, Mu’en Campbell.”
“No problem, I’m very happy to have been invited.”
“Then see you.”
“See you.”
…
After Mu’en left.
From behind the bushes, several small heads suddenly popped out.
They were all first-year girls, with the unique innocence of fresh students on their faces.
“How was it, Senior Finnie? Did he agree?” As Mu’en walked away, the girls eagerly chattered.
“No, he seems to have already been invited by another club.”
“Eh? Why is that?”
A freckled girl said regrettably:
“Weren’t we told he was disliked by all the girls in the academy? How come someone was faster than us?”
“Exactly…”
Another girl with a bit of baby fat complained:
“Is it possible that the senior didn’t make it clear that our Magic Art Society has many beautiful girls?”
“I indeed didn’t mention that, but…”
Finnie recalled their previous conversation and said:
“I don’t believe someone who gets angry when badmouthing a certain girl would be easily attracted by other girls at the moment.”
“Weren’t we told that Mu’en Campbell is a scumbag?”
The last girl with double ponytails said angrily:
“Then are those just some gossiping girls talking nonsense? My family runs a publishing house, so I know those newspapers can’t be trusted. I knew the moment I saw him in the cafeteria on the first day of school that this Mu’en would surely be a fine man.”
“Fine man? You like him just for his looks,” the freckled girl retorted fiercely.
“And his background!” the girl with baby fat added.
“A Duchess, that sounds nice…”
“But there are rumors that Mu’en Campbell seems to be a homosexual.”
“Isn’t that even better? Ah, my nosebleed is coming out…”
“Such a pity we couldn’t successfully invite him. If we could admire his body under the guise of painting in the future… Hehe, oh no, my nosebleed is coming out too.”
“…”
Finnie watched the troublesome little girls in front of her with some helplessness.
These little ones were quite peculiar in the entire Magic Art Society; why support someone like Mu’en Campbell, whose reputation was quite notorious?
Though his heroic leap did indeed impress many.
However…
After all, he dared to be naked before the whole school, combined with previous rumors, one could hardly tell if he was really a pervert. Recently, some new claims suggesting that Mu’en Campbell might actually be a good person had surfaced, but she didn’t dare to jump to conclusions too early; she was still in a phase of observation.
Inviting him was partly because she couldn’t refuse these younger girls, and partly because the Magic Art Society was a large club with many senior members; she wasn’t afraid of Mu’en Campbell causing trouble.
“However…”
Finnie recalled the brief exchange she had with Mu’en and slightly agreeably said:
“He is indeed quite different from what the previous rumors suggested.”
